Many years ago my husband helped me pick out a fancy mountain bike. It was fast, beautiful and pricey. With excitement and glee I took the bike home where it sat in my garage for years! I was reluctant to sell or get rid of it because it was so nice. The fear of letting go kept that bike in my garage for way too long. I could have easily believed that I did not actually like riding bikes. As it would turn out… I do like riding bikes, just not that kind of riding. After all of my medical issues I just knew I was never going to ride on a mountain, nor did I really want to. I finally accepted that I was not a mountain bike kind of girl. I sold the bike and guess what happened? A friend of mine offered to sell me her cruiser bike! When she brought it over it was love at first sight. The first thing I did was put a giant basket on the front and promptly began to ride around town every chance I could.
My bike symbolizes a life lesson. As soon as I was willing to let go of something great just not great for me, something even better came along. While I find it ok to have some fear in life, it is just not helpful to let it make my decisions for me. Is fear limiting you and your abundance?
Today with my family I ride my bike almost every sunny day. Putting around town for a few hours collecting items from garage sales and putting them in my basket. Riding my bike is a mixture of many things I love including being outside, being with my loved ones, movement and results in absolute joy. If you see me on my bike I will almost always be grinning ear to ear.
Months ago I posted on Facebook about how much joy I experience when I ride my bike. Many of you wanted to see pictures of my lovely bicycle. Today’s video features a short bike ride with my daughter. I do not have a Go-Pro so capturing movement like this has been difficult. Luckily my mother graciously offered her time and services to help me shoot. I recently incorporated an exploring movement series into the videos I produce. There are a couple of reasons why I have chosen to do this.
Movement is essential to well being and improved health…
I am a wellness coach and I have a specialized program for people who live with chronic pain. I feel it is important for you to know that I am living what I teach. I am creating a beautiful life in spite of my pain. That is what I offer the people who choose to work with me. A way to live a beautiful life and transform into the best possible version of yourself.
And finally, nobody wants to hear me talk all the time! Lol
